We are extremely fortunate to host Dr. William Telford, director of Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory at the Experimental Transplantation and Immunology Branch, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH) at CHDS-Nepal facility on 13th February 2018. Dr. Telford received his Ph.D. in microbiology from the Michigan State University in 1994. His lab at Michigan had developed some of the flow cytometry based techniques for detection of apoptosis. Dr. Telford is one of the world’s leading experts of flow cytometry. He joined National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 1999 as a Staff Scientist.
While Dr. Telford is at the facility, we will be using this opportunity to hear from him on “Application of Flow Cytometry in Biomedical Research”. Undoubtedly, a talk by an expert like him would be very informative for those working in biomedical research.
Flow cytometer is a powerful tool to analyze cell populations for research and diagnostic purpose. This collaboration initiated by CHDS-Nepal and Dr. Telford from the NIH will help us in achieving our goal of delivering world class immunology research and training in Nepal.
We are excited and pleased to welcome Dr. William Telford.
